With Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian cricket team giving Pat Cummins-led Australian cricket team a sleepless night post defeating the hosts at Perth Test by a whopping 295 runs, things have become a little ‘spicy’ between the two great teams in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025.
Days after the first Test, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese congratulated India’s Virat Kohli on his 30th Test century. As per details, the meeting took place head of their upcoming two-day warm-up match against Prime Ministers XI, which will be starting on November 30.
Several videos surfaced the social media, where the Australian PM could be interacting with Bumrah and Kohli.
In the video, Albanese could be heard saying to Kohli, “Good ton in Perth. As if we weren’t suffering enough at that point.”
To this, Kohli responded, “Always got to add some spice.”
Following the interaction, both shared a good laugh and then Albanese proceeded to meet with other Indian players.
It is to be remembered that Kohli 30th unbeaten ton in Perth arrived after a gap of 491 days.
Rahul Dravid supports Kohli:
Former head coach of Indian cricket team and legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid noted that Kohli getting back to form in the Pert Test is an ominous sign for the visitors.
According to Dravid, starting the series with a century shows Kohli may have a really big series.
He said, as Sportskeeda quoted, “He’s (Virat Kohli) been batting really well, even in the South Africa six months ago when we were there, I thought he was batting really well on a couple of difficult wickets. It’s just nice for him to be able to get that hundred at the start of the series. I think he could have a really big series.”
Meanwhile, Indian team will play their second Test against Australia at Adelaide Oval from 6 December onwards. The second test will be a day-night match, where pink ball will be used.
